EXPANDING OPPORTUNITY is an online database dedicated to building an active partnership between North and South Carolina physics undergraduates. Our goal is to provide students interested in physics research with opportunities to collaborate with their peers attending other universities and community colleges. We want to help students communicate on experiments and projects as well as utilize the specialized equipment available through these neighboring institutions. Participation in this program is completely voluntary; however, we hope that this will provide an ever expanding environment to promote more advanced research opportunities for our students by increasing the resources available to them.

POST your unique research assets! Does your school have a scanning electron microscope or an astronomical observatory on campus?

Help other students enhance their research practice and understanding by sharing this information with Zone 5!

SEARCH for specific tools or available research collaboration positions in the database and request to use research materials from other institutions.

ADVERTISE research collaboration opportunities to students across Zone 5.

  • Looking to build a research team?

  • Does your research require additional experiments that may be performed by students at other schools?
